Faciliites in Udon

Udon has a railway station on the Bangkok – Nong Khai line, and there are also two bus stations.

Udon Thani airport gained international status in 2006.

For shopping in Udon, the supermarket chains include Big C shopping mall, Tesco-Lotus, Makro and Carrefour.

Local shopping malls are mainly Central Plaza (used to be called Complex) and the new mall named UD Center has recently opened.

 On the ring road to the east are several large home improvement stores, including Home Mart, Tool Pro and Global House. Still in this area is the Bo Bei indoor clothes market.

 All over town there are many 7-11 stores and other mini-marts.

 Right next to the railway station there is a large night market called Center Point which opens 5pm until 10pm.

Hospitals in Udon: AEK Udon Hospital and Paolo Hospital are probably the best known, having many facilities. There is also Wattana Hospital.

  In the south-east of the city is Nong Prajak park where you can enjoy a stroll next to the lake.
